3 Small Changes & You Can Have Your Perfect Day

I had the perfect day yesterday.

When was the last time YOU said that - on a weekday?

Here’s how I did it & how YOU can do it too…

My Mindset

When I was a teacher, Monday was incredibly stressful. So stressful, that I would think about calling out and how to get out of going in on Monday. The Sunday Anxiety was insane.

Now with my business, I recognize that I don’t want to have that feeling. While I don’t take the day off, I have certain things I do in order to make sure that I don’t get the Monday Blues.

Monday is now a day where I don’t talk to clients. It’s a day where I set myself up for the rest of the week. There isn’t this insane pressure to walk into an overwhelming environment on the first day of the week.

As a result, my mindset about “going to work” and setting myself up for success so that I’m living a life I design.

This shift didn’t just happen overnight.

It’s happened over the course of the last 6 months, where I realized that my number one thing, my core value, that I want from my job is freedom.

I want the majority of my days free to do what I want in order to enjoy my life to the fullest with days that are under my control and not the to-do lists that pile up.

Get Less Busy

I’ve been talking about this a lot but I’ll repeat myself until you get this point.

  • Busy is taking on shit that’s not yours.
  • Busy is running around with your head cut off to solve everyone else’s problems.
  • Busy is saying you have to get things done a certain way
  • Busy is not what’s on your to-do list.

So the second stage to making my days MINE was to eliminate the “busy” in my life so that I had more room for LIVING.

Planning It Out

Look, I get it. Being creative can mean that we hate planning.

We want to be spontaneous and go with the flow. We want to think of all these ideas and do them later...or tomorrow...or maybe they’ll get started and go unfinished.

But here’s the real secret…

It’s time to start being nice to your future self and think about the future.

Set yourself up for success by planning ahead.

Your perfect day starts coming to you when you get clear about what you want, and plan out how to get it.
