What If People Unfollow or Unsubscribe?

Do you ever cringe when you see you have fewer followers today?

Or when someone unsubs from your list?

It FEELS PERSONAL - and may be ONE reason you subconsciously don't CONSISTENTLY show up with content.

It's your brain saying, "If you don't DO content creation - you'll never have to feel rejected...because...there's nothing to reject".

Here's what you can do about that -

You know, you might feel upset or take it personally when somebody unsubscribes, or you see that there are fewer followers on your account today.

And I just want to remind you a couple of things, unsubscribed and unfollowers can actually be quite good for us.

Maybe over the course of the time somebody's followed you, maybe you've changed your message, or maybe you've clarified things a little bit more.

Or maybe you've gotten more specialized or more expert than where that original follower was, and that you're just not resonating with what they need anymore.

And so I just want to remind you that if somebody unfollows or unsubscribed, it's actually not only good for them, it's also good for you because consider the number of people that follow you who never see your stuff because of the algorithm.

Like, less than 2% of our people see our content.

So if you only have the people who really want your content following you, that means the algorithm is going to work that much better for you.

Imagine that every time you let somebody go and you let them go with ease, that it opens up the space for more people to come in who really want exactly what you're talking about.

So when you master your message and your content is so on point that some people are like,

"Yeah, I'm not interested in this anymore."

That's actually a wonderful thing for both you and for them.

So if you can try to let go of taking it personally, it's a huge mindset shift for you that gives you the freedom.

But also, when you let those people go who aren't your prime people, you can show up consistently.

And that is a really vital piece of content creation is consistently showing up.

And if your brain is saying, "Oh, somebody might unsubscribe or somebody might unfollow," that's sabotage.

That's going to keep you from showing up because you're going to say, somebody might not like it.

So imagine you could do content creation and only speak to your exact right audience.

That's who you want to speak to.

So let all the others go.

Let them unsubscribe.

Let them unfollow so that you can call in the people who really want to hear the content that you have to share.

I hope this is a helpful mindset shift for you.
