What if what you’re doing no longer brings you joy or happiness?
What happens when the job that you have doesn’t quite fill you up anymore? What happens when you’re just feeling “meh” about things?
So many of my clients express to me a feeling of “meh” or that something isn’t right in their life. All the little things that happen day to day seem more frustrating than they used to and they feel discouraged. Wouldn’t it feel better to wake up every day wanting to shout “Yes!” at the thought of getting to work? Wouldn’t it be amazing to enjoy every moment of the day rather than figuring out ways to avoid that to-do list that is haunting you?
My Story
I was a high school teacher and I had a very expensive Masters degree and Post Masters degree. I spent a lot of money and time getting those degrees. I also spent a lot of time being the best teacher I could be. I loved teaching!
But I got to the point where I was in the shower in the morning and I was like “How can I get out of going to work today?”. I realized that more days than none I was asking myself how I could get out of going to that place. Even though I loved my job and was respected by my students and colleagues, I couldn’t shake the feeling.
That’s the point where I think a lot of people don’t let themselves notice when things just feel “meh”. We tend to chalk it up to a bad or “off” day. But what happens when the “off” days start to happen more often than the “on” ones?
It took me years to figure out what was missing from my life, and shake the “meh” feeling that had stuck around for so long. You don’t have to.
